158. WHETHER THE WRONG DOERS ALONE WOULD BE DESTROYED?

In the Quranic verses 6:47, 46:35 it has been said, whether all others except wrong doers would be punished

We often find that when infliction of pain is caused to the people by Allah, not only the wrong-doers but even good people also is punished.

During natural calamities such as cyclone, rain, flood and earth quake it is not only the wrong-doers but even good people also incur the sufferings. Certain people may think that these verses are contradicting the realities as stated above.

What is said in these two verses is not regarding the sufferings, agonies, and the trials that which are usually incurred by men, but it is regarding the torment (punishments) which Allah inflicts only upon the wrong doers. i.e., those who opposed the messengers of Allah where-ever they were sent to the people, excluding the good people. That is, Allah had punished the evil-doers who offended their messengers of Allah after culling away the good people who were found in the community.

Allah says about such matters only, here in these verses.

In the Quranic verse 46:35 He makes it still clear after uttering “then have patience (O Muhammad) even as the stout of heart among the messengers (of old) had patience and seek not, not hasten the doom for them ….”

Only he says ‘……Clear message will anyone be destroyed save evil-living folk?’

Similarly among the people of Nuh, people of Salih, the evil-doers were culled out and were destroyed and the good people were saved.

The sufferings and fear which occur when there are no Prophets (pbut) will be inflicted upon everybody without discriminating as good people and wrongdoers.
