195. SHARE FOR POOR IN THE BOOTY OF WAR.

According to Quranic verse 8:41, the booty (things taken in war) should be divided into five shares and four out of the five shares should be distributed among those who took part in the battle; the remaining one share should be allocated among Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his kindred, orphans, the poor and the way-farers.

That is, the allocation should be made in such a way that eighty percent of the booty would be given to those who took part in the battle; twenty percent would be divided among Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his kindred, the poor, orphans and the way-farers.

As it has Allah also, we will not assume that Allah also is entitled for one share; since the basic principle of Islam is that, what all things that which is said to be belonging to Allah must be distributed among the poor and those who are needy.

So we must understand that Allah had assigned a share to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from and out of the booty (things taken in war) since it was forbidden that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his family members should own anything that which belonged to the Zakath fund.
